    When a woman has had her ovaries removed and not gone on hormone replacement it can cause very painful vaginal dryness. I would guess it could be the same for natural menopause.

    No. You can have a decrease of lubrication from too low levels of Estrogen. Also the walls of the Vagina can become thinner for the same reason.
